The Turin Giants Bring In Previous Italy Manager Spalletti

The Serie A powerhouse have named former Italy head coach Spalletti as their manager for the rest of the term.

The experienced coach steps in for the Croatian manager, who was dismissed post the Lazio setback last weekend.

The former boss came on board in March to replace Thiago Motta but left after seven months at the end of an eight-match winless run.

Spalletti led Napoli to the Serie A title in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, after the team's failure to reach the 2022 World Cup with Mancini at the helm.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 but were eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland.

Nonetheless, Italy dismissed Spalletti in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, as Italy faced the possibility of not making a third World Cup in a row.

He has previously coached Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Italy's top flight and lifted the Russian league trophy twice while at Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla took interim charge of Juventus in the midweek 3-1 triumph over Udinese moving them to seventh position in the league - six points adrift of Napoli at the top after nine rounds.

Their Champions League campaign sees them in 25th place in the group stage, with one loss and two draws in their first three games.
